Attack on ED team and security personnel.
In various states of the country, the Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED is investigating and conducting raids in money laundering cases. In the same sequence, the ED team raided the house of Fisheries and Animal Resources Officer of TMC Parishad Sheikh Shahjahan in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal in the investigation of ration corruption. However, the ED team that went to raid here had to face a terrible attack. According to the information, a crowd of about 100-200 people surrounded the ED officers and security personnel and created a ruckus.
ED investigating ration scam
ED officials were to conduct raids in Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district in connection with the ration scam in West Bengal. Over 100-200 locals surrounded ED officials and central armed paramilitary forces when they reached the residence of TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh. The mob attacked the vehicles of ED and central forces. The ED team had to leave the spot to save their lives. According to the information, there was a scuffle with ED officials and their car was also vandalized.
Rohingyas are spoiling law and order: BJP
On the attack on the ED team, BJP state president Sukant Majumdar said that the manner in which the ED was attacked in Sandeshkhali today shows what the Rohingyas are doing to the law and order in the state by entering Bengal. This will happen not only with ED but in the future this will also happen with Bengalis. This will keep happening if Trinamool government is in power.
Shahjahan Sheikh is the don of the area
Former West Bengal BJP President Rahul Sinha has also given a statement on the attack on the ED team during the raid in West Bengal. He said that Shahjahan Sheikh is the don of Sandeshkhali area. He is also a TMC leader and has several murder cases against him. He alleged that the police did not take any action against Shahjahan Sheikh because he is a TMC leader.
