ED team reached Hemant Soren’s residence in Delhi.
New Delhi: The team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) has today reached the house of Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in Shanti Niketan, Delhi. Hemant Soren had come to Delhi just a few days ago, after which the ED team has now reached his residence. Hemant Soren is still in Delhi. Let us tell you that ED had sought time to interrogate Hemant Soren between January 29 and 31 in the land deal scam. Let us tell you that Soren had suddenly left for Delhi after the Enforcement Directorate issued a fresh summons in the money laundering case. He had left for Delhi on Saturday night itself, after which a round of speculations had started.
Left for Delhi after ED summons
Actually, the Enforcement Directorate had sent summons to Hemant Saman and asked whether he was available for questioning on 29 or 31 January? Only after this Soren left for Delhi. “He had no plans to go to Delhi,” an official said. Their plan suddenly came into existence after ED sent summons. He has many programs proposed which include pre-scheduled programs on January 29 in Chaibasa, January 30 in Palamu and January 31 in Giridih.” A source said that Soren has gone to Delhi for legal consultation. However, this could not be confirmed from the Chief Minister’s Office.
14 people arrested so far
The central agency had recorded the Chief Minister’s statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) on January 20 at his official residence. According to the information, the fresh summons was issued because the interrogation was not completed that day. According to the agency, the investigation pertains to a “large racket of illegal change in land ownership by the mafia” in Jharkhand. The ED has so far arrested 14 people in this case, including 2011 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Chhavi Ranjan. She served as the Director of the State Social Welfare Department and Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi.
