Before Rajya Sabha elections, Congress sent all the MLAs to hotel.

Bengaluru: A day before the Rajya Sabha elections in Karnataka, Congress on Monday sent all its MLAs to a hotel. Let us tell you that in the elections to be held for Rajya Sabha, there are five candidates – Ajay Maken, Syed Naseer Hussain and G. C. Chandrasekhar, Narayan Bandge and Kupendra Reddy are in the fray. Amid fears of cross voting, all parties have issued whips to their MLAs for the voting to be held on Tuesday. At the same time, before the Rajya Sabha elections, other parties are also busy in their full preparations.

DK Shivkumar gave information

Earlier, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Congress State President had said that “All the MLAs will stay together in the hotel, we will come together to vote.” We have extra votes. We will do whatever is necessary to protect our party. Other people are also in touch with us. I don’t want to disclose it.” He said eight party leaders, including two ministers, have been entrusted with the task of coordinating with the MLAs.

What are the equations of Karnataka?

Let us tell you that in Karnataka, Congress has 134 MLAs while BJP has 66 and JD (S) has 19 MLAs, while there are four other MLAs. Of the four other MLAs, the Congress is claiming the support of two independents and Darshan Puttannaiah of the Sarvodaya Karnataka party. He is confident of winning three seats. Interestingly, another MLA G. Janardhana Reddy (Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha) met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday. The atmosphere for the Rajya Sabha elections in Karnataka became interesting after the BJP-JD(S) alliance fielded its second candidate (Kupendra Reddy), although the alliance has the power to win only one seat out of the four. According to official sources, each candidate will have to secure 45 votes to win.
