From where SP will contest in MP, what was the situation in the last three Lok Sabha elections – India TV Hindi

SP will contest from Khajuraho Lok Sabha seat in MP

Bhopal: There is an alliance between Samajwadi Party and Congress in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha elections. This is the first time in the India alliance, when talks regarding seat sharing in any state have been finalized. Now, Congress will contest on 17 out of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh and its allies including SP will contest on the remaining seats. With this, Congress will contest on 28 out of 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh, while SP will try its strength on one seat.

Samajwadi Party will field its candidate from Khajuraho seat here. Delimitation of this seat was done in the year 2008. After that, for the first time since 2009 Lok Sabha elections, SP has been fielding its candidate here but it has not got success even once. After the delimitation of 2008, three Lok Sabha elections have been held on this seat and every time the BJP candidate has achieved success. At present, BJP state president VD Sharma is the MP from here.

What was the result in 2009

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s Jitendra Singh Bundela got 2,29,369 votes from Khajuraho. At that time Congress fielded Raja Patria as its candidate and he got 2,01,037 votes. This time BJP won the election from here by a slight margin of 28,332. SP candidate Jaywant Singh could get only 20,045 votes. He got only 3.44 percent of the total votes.

The difference between victory and defeat has increased since 2014.

After this, BJP made Nagendra Singh its candidate from here in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. This time the victory margin increased from here. BJP candidate got 4,47,966 votes. Whereas Congress’s Raja Patria, who stood second, could get only 2,27,476 votes. Along with this, SP candidate Siddharth Sukhlal Kushwaha could get only 40,069 votes. However, this time his vote percentage increased. This time the SP candidate got 4.58 percent votes.

VD Sharma won with record votes in 2019

However, the story changed in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Current state president VD Sharma came here as a candidate from BJP. Kavita Raje was made the candidate from Congress side. Apart from this, Veer Singh Patel contested from SP. The BJP candidate secured a record 811,135 votes while the Congress candidate got stuck at 3,18,753 votes. Apart from this, SP candidate could get only 40,077 votes. This time his vote percentage also declined. This time SP got only 3.19 percent of the total votes.
