CM said that Rahul Gandhi will be arrested after Lok Sabha elections
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma has made a big announcement on Wednesday. CM Himanta announced that Rahul Gandhi will be arrested after this year’s Lok Sabha elections. Veteran Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is taking out ‘Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra’ these days. Currently, this yatra is passing through Assam, during which the police has filed an FIR against Rahul Gandhi for allegedly inciting violence in the state.

Speaking at an event in Nazira in Sibsagar district, CM Himanta said, “We have registered an FIR. An SIT will investigate it and he (Rahul Gandhi) will be arrested after the Lok Sabha elections.” Please note that Lok Sabha elections are likely to be held before May this year.
Why did Assam Police register FIR?
Assam Police has taken action against several Congress leaders and alleged violence during the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The police have included criminal force, causing damage to public property, rioting, assault or preventing public servants from discharging their duties and other related sections. Director General of Police JP Singh said that the case has been handed over to Assam CID.

Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday ordered registration of an FIR against Rahul Gandhi for inciting the crowd to break the barricade and enter Guwahati. Let us inform that during this fight, many Congress leaders-workers and four policemen were slightly injured.
