Incident of passengers eating food near the runway cost IndiGo a lot, fined

Fine of crores imposed on IndiGo

New Delhi: The last few days have been very difficult for the airline company Indigo. Many incidents including a passenger slapping the flight captain, flights being delayed by several hours or passengers eating food near the runway have made a lot of headlines. Now BCAS has imposed fine on the airline company in the case of dinner on the runway of passengers of low cost air carrier in Mumbai.

Indigo fined Rs 1.20 crore

Taking cognizance of this incident, BCAS has imposed a fine of Rs 1.20 crore on IndiGo. Along with this, a fine of Rs 60 lakh has also been imposed on Mumbai airport operator MIAL. DGCA has also imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh on MIAL due to the same incident. Apart from this, DGCA has also imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh each on Air India and Spice Jet Company.

The video went viral on social media

Let us tell you that recently an Indigo flight coming from Goa to Delhi was landed in Mumbai. After this, the passengers were kept in the plane for a long time, after which the passengers created a ruckus and started resting next to the runway and eating dinner there. A video of this went viral on social media.

Indigo had expressed regret over the incident

After this video, Indigo has given its clarification on this. Indigo wrote in its clarification that, we regret this inconvenience and assure you that it was not our intention at all to disrupt the travel plans of our passengers. However, sometimes, due to certain operational reasons, such delays are beyond the control of the airline. For which we express our regret.
