Ranchi: The Communist Party of India (CPI) has made a big announcement. In fact, the CPI, while announcing its separation from the opposition alliance ‘India’ in Jharkhand, on Sunday said that it will contest alone on eight of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Let us tell you that CPI does not have any MP from Jharkhand in the Lok Sabha. At the same time, CPI’s separation from the India alliance is being considered a big blow for the opposition. On one hand, CPI has raised questions on the working style of Congress, while on the other hand, JMM has targeted the leadership of CPI.

Angry over no discussion on seat sharing

CPI State Secretary Mahendra Pathak said, “We have decided to contest the Lok Sabha elections on our own.” He said that “BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) has announced its candidates, but Congress and ‘Grand Alliance’ ‘ Has not yet held any talks on seat sharing. Therefore, we have decided to contest the elections alone.” He said that this decision was taken in the state executive committee meeting of the party here. CPI will field its candidates in Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Chatra, Palamu, Giridih, Dumka and Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituencies. Pathak said that the names of the candidates will be announced after March 16.

JMM raised questions on CPI

Meanwhile, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), which leads the ruling coalition in Jharkhand, said this decision of the CPI state unit raises questions on discipline within the party. JMM spokesperson Manoj Pandey said, “It is beyond my understanding. Can the state unit take such decisions. Discussions on seat sharing are already going on at the national level.” Of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has 11, All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) has one, JMM has one and Congress has one. However, the lone Congress MP Geeta Koda had recently joined the BJP.
