Indian Muslims need not worry about CAA – Government – India TV Hindi

New Delhi : Amidst the political uproar over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), the Home Ministry on Tuesday said that Indian Muslims do not need to worry about the CAA because this law has nothing to do with Indian Muslims. Who have the same rights as their counterpart Hindu Indian citizens. The ministry, while trying to allay the apprehensions of a section of Muslims and students regarding the CAA, made it clear that “after this law, no Indian citizen will be required to produce any document to prove his citizenship.” It will be said.

Nothing to do with Indian Muslims – Home Ministry

CAA not against Muslim minorities – Home Ministry

The statement said that this law protects the image of Islam from being tarnished in the name of atrocities. Explaining the need for the law, the ministry said India has no agreement with Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh to send back migrants to these countries. “This citizenship law is not related to the deportation of illegal immigrants,” the statement said. Therefore, the concern of a section of people, including Muslims and students, that the CAA is against Muslim minorities is unwarranted.” The ministry said that under Section 6 of the Citizenship Act, which deals with citizenship on the basis of naturalization, Muslims from anywhere in the world There is no bar on obtaining Indian citizenship. The statement said that without curtailing the rights, freedoms and opportunities that Indian Muslims have enjoyed since independence, like Indian citizens of other religions, the CAA will end the suffering of persecution of people who came to India on or before December 31, 2014. In order to reduce and show lenient treatment towards them, the eligibility period for applying for citizenship has been reduced from 11 to five years.

Emphasizing the rationale for bringing CAA, the ministry said that this law is meant to show sympathy towards the oppressed minorities of those three countries and give them an opportunity to acquire Indian citizenship for their happy and prosperous future as per the liberal culture of India. The statement said, “This law was needed to bring about the necessary changes in the citizenship system and to control illegal immigrants.” The ministry also clarified that this law will not allow any Muslim to get Indian citizenship under the existing laws. does not prevent anyone who has faced persecution in those three Islamic countries for practicing their ways of Islam from applying. Protests against the implementation of CAA started in some parts of the country including Assam on Tuesday. (input language)
