Aam Aadmi Party and Indi alliance clash over seat sharing

Aam Aadmi Party’s PAC meeting is going to be held on 13th February. In this meeting, the candidates for the Lok Sabha seats of Goa, Haryana and Gujarat will be decided. AAP has already declared its candidate on one seat in Gujarat and yesterday announced its candidates on 3 seats in Assam and had asked the India Alliance to support it. Now AAP is going to take a decision in the PAC meeting regarding 3 states – Goa, Haryana and Gujarat. What’s more, Kejriwal’s party is already saying about Punjab that it will contest the Lok Sabha elections there alone.

AAP is angry with the delay in taking the decision

Therefore, it is clearly visible that Aam Aadmi Party is now left in India alliance only in name. Not only this, Rajya Sabha MP and AAP’s Organization General Secretary Sandeep Pathak have already expressed their displeasure over the delay in taking decisions in the alliance. Sandeep Pathak had said in a press conference yesterday that elections are very near. For how long will we just keep holding meetings? If you want to contest elections, you will have to work and for that it is very important that the names of the candidates are finalised.

“We don’t have that much time”

Pathak said in the press conference at AAP headquarters that now very little time is left for the elections. Now everything should be expedited. Talks have been going on for several months but no result has been achieved yet. We have to contest elections and win. He said, “Lok Sabha elections are very close. We have to work hard and a lot of work needs to be done to prepare for the elections. We don’t have that much time. As the elections are approaching, the time for preparations is also decreasing.

Row over seat sharing in Delhi and Punjab

AAP’s Organization General Secretary said, “We are with the ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (India), an alliance of opposition parties, in the fight against the Modi government. All decisions on alliance should be taken immediately.” Earlier, AAP leaders had said that the party was in talks with the Congress on seat sharing in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and Goa. Sources said that talks between AAP and Congress regarding seat sharing in Delhi and Punjab are stalled. However, the state units of both the parties are not in favor of any alliance in Punjab, sources said. AAP leaders in Delhi are maintaining silence on the seat sharing formula for the Lok Sabha elections.
