Leader of opposition in this state resigned, now becomes minister in BJP government – India TV Hindi

2 new ministers took oath of office and secrecy in the government of Chief Minister Manik Saha.

Agartala: Senior Tipra Motha leader Animesh Debbarma on Thursday resigned from the post of Leader of Opposition in Tripura Assembly. He along with another party MLA Brisketu Debbarma were sworn in as ministers in the BJP-led government in the state on Thursday. Before joining Manik Saha’s government, Animesh Debbarma had said, ‘Tipra Motha has 13 MLAs in the 60-member Tripura Assembly. The party will join the government as an ally of BJP and will be given two ministerial posts. Tipra Motha has a good hold in the tribal areas of the state.

A very important agreement was reached just a few days ago

Let us tell you that a few days ago, a tripartite agreement was signed between Tipra Motha, Tripura Government and the Central Government in New Delhi for an amicable solution to all the issues of the indigenous people of the state. Before the oath of 2 new ministers, there were 9 ministers in the Tripura government including Chief Minister Manik Saha, which has now increased to 11. Let us tell you that according to the rules, there can be 12 ministers including the Chief Minister in the state government. After resigning, Animesh Debbarma had said that he would go to Raj Bhawan to take oath as minister.

Tipra Motha had performed brilliantly in 2023

There are 2 Lok Sabha seats in Tripura and Tipra Motha’s influence on one is very high because most of the tribals and local people have been in her support. However, last time BJP had won both the seats. Tipra Motha surprised political pundits with her brilliant performance in the assembly elections. In the Tripura Assembly elections held in 2023, BJP won 32 out of 60 seats, while Tipra Motha won 13, CPM won 11 and Congress won 3 seats. One seat came to the account of IPFT. In those elections there was an alliance of BJP and IPFT and Congress and CPM.
