Gautam Buddha Nagar Excise Department has recovered 653 boxes of liquor being smuggled to Bihar from a truck in Noida. District Excise Officer Subodh Kumar Srivastava said that the State Tax Gross Team caught the truck carrying liquor boxes near Sirsa roundabout and informed the Excise Department in this regard.
He said that 653 boxes of Punjab and Arunachal Pradesh brand liquor were found from the truck. Srivastava said that a case has been registered in this regard at Kasna police station. The excise officer said that the truck driver has fled from the spot and a search is on for him. He said that investigation has revealed that this liquor was being smuggled to Bihar via Uttar Pradesh. The inspection of the matter is going on. (input language)
