Location of Congress’ ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ changed
New Delhi: After ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Congress is now starting ‘Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra’. The yatra was to begin from Imphal in Manipur on January 14, but now its venue has been changed. Now this yatra, to be taken out under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, will start from Thoubul, 34 kilometers away from Imphal. The Congress party said that this change has been made due to the shutters of the government. The party said that the yatra could not have started in Imphal with the conditions set by the government. After which its location was changed.
Permission to travel was sought on January 2
Manipur Congress chief Keesham Meghchandra said that at the beginning of the year, on January 2, he had sought permission from the district administration to start the yatra from Hapta Kangjeibung ground in Imphal. The administration refused permission for the yatra citing law and order. After this, he met State Chief Minister N Biren Singh on January 10. He gave permission for the journey with certain conditions. A major condition in this was that only one thousand people would participate in the yatra. More people than this will not be allowed to visit the venue.

‘Government’s conditions were worrying for us’
State Congress President said that the conditions were worrying for us. Late on January 10, the Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal district gave permission for the journey through the private ground of Khongjom. After this we decided to change the place. On January 14, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will flag off the yatra from here. There will be no change in the route. Earlier, Keesham Meghchandra had said that we are actually trying to help the government show the world that Manipur is returning to normalcy.
