Lok Sabha election dates
97 crore people will vote
The Election Commission has informed that approximately 97 crore Indians will be eligible to vote in this year’s Lok Sabha elections. According to the Commission, the number of registered voters has increased by six percent since the last Lok Sabha elections 2019. The Election Commission has reported that around 96.88 crore voters, the largest in the world, are registered to vote for the upcoming general elections in India. More than two crore young voters in the age group of 18 to 29 years have been added to the voter list.
Elections for 543 Lok Sabha seats
Let us tell you that elections are being organized for a total of 543 seats of the Lok Sabha. The general election of India is considered to be the biggest democratic festival in the world. People will elect MPs for their respective areas and these MPs will elect the Prime Minister. Along with this, the Election Commission will also organize the assembly elections of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and some other states.
What was the date in 2019?
In the year 2019, the Lok Sabha elections were announced by the Election Commission on March 10. Last time the elections were conducted in a total of 7 phases. At the same time, voting took place in various states of the country between 11 April and 19 May. Voting took place in all 7 phases in Uttar Pradesh with maximum 80 Lok Sabha seats, Bihar with 40 seats and West Bengal with 42 seats. At the same time, voting was held in only one round in 22 states and union territories. There was about 67.1% voting in these elections. At the same time, the counting of these voting and election results were released on 23 May.
