Lok Sabha Election 2024

Pataliputra seat of Bihar has been quite popular. Ramkripal Yadav, who is close to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, is an MP from BJP here. Let us tell you that after delimitation in the year 2008, Patna Lok Sabha seat was divided into two parts. In this, one seat is Patna Sahib and the other is Patliputra. Patliputra seat has been held by the BJP-led NDA alliance since the 2009 Lok Sabha elections. Let us know what is the political equation of Patliputra seat.

What was the condition of the previous elections?

NDA has won Patliputra Lok Sabha seat every time in the last 3 elections. In 2009, JDU candidate Ranjan Prasad Yadav defeated RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav by 23,541 votes. In 2014, BJP’s Ramkripal Yadav defeated RJD’s Misa Bharti by 40,322 votes. Whereas, in the year 2019, once again BJP’s Ramkripal Yadav defeated RJD’s Misa Bharti by 39,321 votes. About 56 percent voting took place in the area.

What is the political equation of Pataliputra?

There are a total of more than 18 lakh voters in Patliputra Lok Sabha seat. Rural areas of Patna district, especially the western areas, come under this seat. Patliputra has a sizeable population of Yadav, Bhumihar and Kurmi castes. These voters decide the difference between victory and defeat. JDU and BJP can once again contest elections together in Bihar. In such a situation, it is expected that there will be a BJP candidate from Patliputra seat.
