Ranchi: Lok Sabha elections are going to be held in the country in the next few weeks and this is the reason why political activity is at its peak. All major political parties have started implementing their respective strategies to perform well in the elections. Through the Lok Sabha elections, voters will elect a total of 543 MPs who will represent the people of their area in the lower house of the Parliament. Out of these 543 Lok Sabha seats, the party or alliance which gets 272 or more seats will get a chance to form the government. Among these 543 Lok Sabha seats, one seat is from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, about which we are going to tell you.

BJP has the upper hand on Ranchi seat

Let us tell you that there are a total of 6 assembly seats in Ranchi Lok Sabha seat. The names of these seats are Ichagarh, Silli, Khijri (ST), Ranchi, Hatia and Kanke (SC). Ichagarh seat is held by JMM, Silli seat by AJSU and Khijri seat by Congress, while the remaining three seats are with BJP. In the last two elections, BJP has been winning the Lok Sabha seat of Ranchi, hence it can be said that BJP has dominance in this area.

BJP had big victories in 2014 and 2019.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had registered a big victory on the Ranchi Lok Sabha seat. While BJP candidate Ram Tahal Choudhary got 4,48,729 votes, veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay could collect only 2,49,426 votes. In this way, the Congress candidate had to face defeat by a margin of about 2 lakh votes. In 2019 too, the story was no different and BJP candidate Sanjay Seth had defeated Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay by a margin of more than three and a quarter lakh votes.

Casteism factor is not dominant in Ranchi

Let us tell you that the factor of casteism was never seen dominating the Ranchi assembly seat. In total 17 Lok Sabha elections held on this seat, candidates of different castes and religions have won. The leaders who have won this seat have been from Kurmi to Kayastha and from Muslim to Parsi, hence it can be said that the voters of Ranchi have not shown much interest in things like casteism.

NDA had won in 2014 and 2019

In 2014, Lok Sabha elections were held in a total of 9 phases from 7 April to 12 May. In these elections, the people elected their representatives for the 16th Lok Sabha. In 2019, the general elections were held in a total of 7 phases from 11 April to 19 May and the results came on 23 May. In these elections also the story of 2014 was repeated and Narendra Modi once again became the Prime Minister.
