New Delhi: Lokpal has ordered a CBI inquiry against expelled TMC MP Muhya Moitra from Parliament. Also, CBI has been ordered to submit the investigation report within 6 months. Lokpal has registered a case against Mahua Moitra under IPC 203 (a) and asked her to investigate and submit progress report of the investigation every month.
In November 2023, CBI had started a preliminary investigation on the orders of Lokpal and submitted a report. After this, the Lokpal has ordered a detailed investigation into this matter. CBI sources say that no case has been registered in this matter yet. Further action will be taken only after seeing and studying the Lokpal’s order. Before registering the case, DoPT issues an order after which CBI will register the case and start investigation.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has tweeted regarding the CBI investigation against Mahua Moitra by Lokpal. He wrote on social media platform That means, for a few rupees, the former Trinamool Congress MP mortgaged corruption and the country’s security with Hiranandani. Nishikant Dubey has also attached the copy of the Lokpal order in his post.
