2 female government officials caught taking bribe

Bhopal: Two women government employees were caught allegedly taking bribe in separate cases in Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni and Ujjain districts on Tuesday. A team of Lokayukta’s Special Police Establishment (SPE) caught seed inspector Trishna Chauhan allegedly taking Rs 20,000 from a businessman at her office in Seoni, an official said.

He told that businessman Shivnath Chandravanshi had complained that the inspector had asked for Rs 30 thousand per quintal for issuing certification of seeds. Lokayukta SPE officer Swapnil Das said that after the complaint was filed, a trap was laid and Chauhan was arrested.

Ujjain’s SPE Superintendent of Police Anil Vishwakarma said that Priyanka Soni, a patwari in Alot town of the district, was caught allegedly taking Rs 8,000. Soni had demanded bribe from a farmer Bharat Singh Chauhan to change the ownership of the land. (input language)
