Mohan Yadav stayed in Ujjain

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav broke the long-standing practice that no king or top political functionary stays overnight in Ujjain, home of the famous Mahakaleshwar temple. He said that this tradition could be a trick of the royal Scindia family. Yadav, MLA from Ujjain South, who was sworn in as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister on December 13, was staying in the holy city, about 190 km from here, on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

Earlier, sources had said that during the Ujjain visit, the Chief Minister and other senior political functionaries would stay overnight in the surrounding areas. Addressing a program here on Saturday night, Yadav said, “For some reason the capital (of the Scindia royal family) was shifted from Ujjain to Gwalior in 1812. He left the legend that no king stays here at night. This was so that no one would come here to capture this area. This was his political strategy.

Yadav said, “Lord Mahakal is the king of all and we are his children. Will Lord Mahakal exercise divine powers only within the municipal limits? No one in the entire universe can escape if he wishes.”

There was a tremendous welcome in Ujjain.

Earlier, when Dr. Mohan Yadav reached his hometown Ujjain after becoming the CM of Madhya Pradesh, a huge crowd had gathered to welcome him. On this occasion, a welcome procession was organized from Dussehra ground. During this welcome visit of CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, people welcomed him at various places.

This welcome journey of CM started from Dussehra Maidan and went towards Nikhar Fashion via Surana Palace Hotel, Control Room Tiraha, Varsha Zone Corner, Freeganj Gurudwara. During this time, people lined up on various routes of the city and showered flowers on CM Dr. Mohan Yadav. During this time, people showered flowers on the CM from rooftops, galleries and welcome platforms. About 300 welcome platforms were made in the city for the Swagat Yatra.
