India-Maldives tension.
Maldives is facing criticism after making derogatory comments about India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. People of India are talking about boycotting Maldives on social media. In such a situation, to calm down the tense situation, the Government of Maldives had also issued a clarification. However, the matter does not seem to have calmed down yet. Meanwhile, now the ambassador of Maldives has also reached the Indian Foreign Ministry in Delhi.
High Commissioner arrived to give clarification
Maldives ambassador Ibrahim Shahib reached the Ministry of External Affairs in South Block, Delhi on Monday. However, his visit to the Ministry of External Affairs was very short-lived. Shortly after going inside the ministry, he was seen coming out. Shahib had reached the Ministry of External Affairs amid the controversy over the post of Maldives MP during PM Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep.
