Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in Aap Ki Adalat
New Delhi: Union Petroleum and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri attended AAP’s court. During this, he answered Rajat Sharma’s questions openly. On a question by Rajat Sharma in AAP Ki Adalat, Minister Hardeep Puri denied that he had ever called Rahul Gandhi a ‘donkey’. Puri continued, “That was a saying I was quoting. I’m getting a donkey to race a horse. I never said, he’s a donkey. But on stupidity I said, there are three kinds of donkeys in the world. There are fools – one ordinary, one extraordinary and the third I call Chakravarti.”
When Hardeep Puri went on a secret mission…
During this, Hardeep Puri revealed in the AAP court how as a special envoy of the government, he had to walk through the jungles of Jaffna to meet LTTE chief V. Prabhakaran to seek approval for the India-Sri Lanka peace agreement in 1987. Puri said, “There were landmines on the way and we had to travel at night to avoid attacks. Our military advisor was an Indian Navy officer. It was a secret mission. It was a big task for me professionally.”
PM invited him for breakfast and made him a minister
In Aap Ki Adalat, Union Minister Hardeep Puri revealed how in 2017 he suddenly got a call from the Prime Minister’s Office asking him to come and meet Narendra Modi. Puri said, “I was in Colombo at that time to attend the Indian Ocean Conference. I met the Prime Minister at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. He invited me for breakfast and took me to the Rashtrapati Bhavan to take the oath of office as a minister. When he said this, I was surprised. Later I got the Rajya Sabha ticket.”
