NI seizes property of gangsters in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow

New Delhi: NIA has taken another big step towards dismantling the terrorist-gangster-drug smuggler nexus in the country. This Central Investigation Agency has seized the property of four members of the gangster-terrorist syndicate of dreaded gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. NIA teams conducted raids in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 and attached these properties. The attached properties include three immovable properties and one movable property. The NIA found that all these properties are ‘proceeds of terrorism’, which are used to hatch terrorist conspiracies and commit serious crimes.

Vikas Singh’s property seized in Gomti Nagar

One of the attached properties is from Gomti Nagar Extension, Lucknow. This property of Flat-77/4, Ashray-1, Sulabh Awas Yojana, Sector-1, Gomti Nagar Extension belongs to Vikas Singh, who provides shelter to terrorist gangs in UP. Two properties have been attached in village Bishanpura, Fazilka of Punjab. This property is in the name of Dalip Kumar alias Bhola @ Dalip Bishnoi. Apart from this, a Fortuner car registered in the name of Joginder Singh son of Hukum Singh, resident of Yamunanagar, Haryana has also been seized.

Vikas Singh is an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi

According to NIA investigation, Vikas Singh is an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi. He had given shelter to terrorists including the accused involved in the RPG attack on Punjab Police Headquarters. While Joginder Singh is the father of gangster Kala Rana, a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi. Joginder Singh was facilitating the use of his Fortuner car to the gang members for the purpose of transportation of arms and ammunition to promote terrorist acts. The property of accused Dalip Kumar was being used for storing and hiding weapons and also for harboring terrorist gang members.

The case was registered in August 2022

The NIA had registered a case under UAPA against the organized crime syndicate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates in August 2022. The agency’s investigation revealed that the gang had spread criminal networks in many states of the country. This network was involved in many sensational crimes. Apart from the murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala as well as religious and social leaders like Pradeep Kumar, criminals associated with this network used to carry out large-scale extortion from businessmen and professionals.

A conspiracy is being hatched from the jails of Pakistan, Canada and the country.

The NIA investigation has also revealed that many of these terrorist conspiracies were hatched by leaders of organized terrorist syndicates operating from foreign countries, including Pakistan and Canada, or from jails across the country. As part of its efforts to dismantle such terror and mafia networks and their support infrastructure, the NIA has adopted several strategies in recent months, including attachment of their properties derived from ‘proceeds of terrorism’.
