Big action by NIA.

The action of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is continuing against people involved in human trafficking in India through Bangladesh. NIA has arrested two absconding Bangladeshi citizens in Bangladesh human trafficking case. Both these accused were absconding for the past several days and a large-scale search operation was being conducted by the NIA to nab them. Finally NIA has arrested these two absconding Bangladeshis from Karnataka. Let us know the whole matter.

14 Bangladeshis arrested so far

NIA has informed that after a massive search, fugitives Mohammad Sajid Halder and Idris have been arrested from Karnataka. The two were on the run, and were traced and captured on Thursday night with the help of Karnataka’s Internal Security Division. With this the total number of arrests in this case has increased to 14.

Bangladeshis who entered India illegally
Actually, NIA had busted a racket after a nationwide raid in November last year. During investigation, NIA found that Haldar and Idris had entered India illegally through Benapole on the India-Bangladesh border. Halder had also set up a unit at K Chanasandra in Ram Murti Nagar, Bengaluru and employed other Bangladeshi nationals in his operations. Idris had leased land and set up tents for more than 20 Bangladeshi families who were suspected of being trafficked by him. Investigation is ongoing to confirm these details.

Used to provide illegal entry into India
The NIA had registered the case on November 7, 2023, after receiving credible information that some Karnataka-based persons had links with facilitators and smugglers in Assam, Tripura and cross-border countries. The accused were also found involved in providing fake Aadhaar cards to the victims. NIA continues to take action against smugglers operating on the India-Bangladesh border.
