AIMIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi in ‘Aap Ki Adalat’.
New Delhi: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has said that if India’s 17 crore Muslims want to progress then they should have their own political leadership. Answering questions on Rajat Sharma’s prestigious show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ to be aired tonight on India TV, Owaisi said: ‘If there are leaders of Jats, Thakurs, Brahmins, Yadavs, Kurmis, Kushwahas, Marathas, Dalits and OBCs. If they can then why not Muslims? Prime Minister Modi has also claimed in the Lok Sabha that he is the biggest OBC. The population of Muslims is 17 crores and if they do not have any leader, will it be good for democracy?
When Rajat Sharma asked the AIMIM leader why he had been in politics for 28 years and still could not develop leadership for Muslims, Owaisi replied: ‘The disease which has spread like cancer for 75 years, will not develop in 28 years. Will it end in a year? The biggest mistake that Muslims made was to stand in that ground in Lucknow after independence and say that we will not take part in politics, we will withdraw from political leadership and we will trust this party. The same party you trusted got statues placed in Babri Masjid during the time of the then Chief Minister Govind Ballabh Pant. During the rule of the same party, riots took place in Maliana, Hashimpura and Nellie. Tell me, how many Muslim MPs are there in the Parliament of India today?
Owaisi said: ‘Sikhs also formed their own leadership. Every community has leadership, and no one can deny it. But when it comes to political empowerment of Muslims, the memory of Jinnah comes alive. We rejected Jinnah, we rejected Jinnah, that is why we are here today and will remain here till the morning of doomsday. If there is no political leadership then we will be dragged, used and justice will not be done.
INDIA ALLIANCE
AIMIM supremo said, ‘When INDIA alliance was being formed, an order had already been issued that Owaisi would not be allowed. When Rajat Sharma said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Arshad Madani had said that having Owaisi leads to polarization of elections and it benefits Modi, the AIMIM supremo replied: ‘I am telling you. When you started the matter. I had never said this before, I am saying this today that two big muftis had come to me in Hyderabad before the UP elections. They came and said that we have brought the message of a great Maulana to you and he says that you should stay away from the elections. So I said, look brother, I am swimming in the middle of the ocean, now I can’t even swim to the shore. I said that we will support Samajwadi Party, get them into alliance with me. I demanded those 10 seats where there is no MLA from Samajwadi Party. Both became very happy. Mufti said, wow sir! May Allah keep you well, pray Bismillah. He went away after blessing me and said that Maulana was very happy and said that he would try. That effort is still going on.
Talking about Bihar elections, Owaisi said, ‘I was ready for Bihar elections also. I met two Rajya Sabha MPs of RJD in the Central Hall of the old Parliament Building. I told him, sir, see, we contested the Lok Sabha elections and we got 3 lakh votes. You give 5 seats in Seemanchal. Only 5. One, keep smiling. There is a very educated man, he said drink tea, drink coffee. The other one said, what interest do you have in coming from Hyderabad and fighting in Bihar? I said that I believe in democracy, and Hyderabad is part of India. I even asked my party chief in Bihar, Akhtarul Iman, to go to Patna and meet their leaders, but no one was ready. Answering a question on Akhand Bharat, Owaisi said, he supports ‘Akhand Bharat’, but Prime Minister Modi will first have to take back Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
Owaisi said: ‘I am in favor of united India. To achieve this you will have to take back the whole of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, parts of Burma, Afghanistan and half of Bhutan, but Modi must first take back Pakistan occupied Kashmir and take back the Chinese from their occupied areas. Push.’
Denial on Kashi, Mathura
On Vishwa Hindu Parishad President Alok Kumar’s statement that he is asking Muslims with folded hands to give Mathura and Kashi after Ayodhya, Owaisi said: ‘This is all nonsense. These three, these are all lies. Why would you give? Some of the mosque belongs to my father, some of the mosque belongs to my mother. Mosque belongs to Allah. It is a paper of the mosque, a document. How long will you speak? He was the Mughal emperor at that time. Then who will do justice to Pushyamitra Sunga? Tell me. Pushyamitra Sunga destroyed many stupas of Buddhism. Do him justice. Come on, when you call the Mughal emperor, what will Pushyamitra Shunga do? No one talks about Pushyamitra Shunga. What was the constitution in the times when Mughals and Pushyamitra were ruling? Was there ‘right to equality’ in the princely states? Was not there. We have a constitution and we have to work according to that constitution. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya signed that agreement. Today you say that you will not listen to him.
Rajat Sharma: That’s why you say Babri Masjid Zindabad, and they say Babar ki aulad?
Owaisi: ‘No. See, this is what I am telling you. I want my DNA to be done and also that of Narendra Modi ji. Get the RSS people done. You will come to know who is Aryan and who belongs to this country. I am a bit of a spokesperson for Babar. So are Narendra Modi and BJP the spokespersons of Nathuram Godse? What relation do I have with Babar? What relation do I have with Aurangzeb? What connection do I have with Jinnah?
