Parliament will change before the formation of the new government

New Delhi: Lok Sabha elections have been announced. This time elections will be conducted in seven phases. The first phase of voting will be held on April 19 and the seventh phase of voting will be conducted on June 1. Along with this, counting of votes will take place on June 4. It is believed that a new government will be formed by mid-June. The Lok Sabha session can be called in the month of July. In which the newly elected MPs will be administered the oath. It is noteworthy that the new Parliament building has been constructed and two sessions have also been conducted in this building.

Work is underway to integrate the entire campus

The 18th Lok Sabha will also begin from the new building. But there will be many changes in this also. Sources close to Parliament said that work is underway to integrate the entire complex consisting of four separate buildings. As part of the redevelopment of the outer area, the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and national symbols will be moved to a garden near Gate No. 5 of the Old Parliament House (Constitution House). This will pave the way for the construction of a huge garden in front of the ‘Gaj Dwar’ of the new Parliament building.

Let us tell you that the Gaj Gate is used by the President and the Prime Minister to enter the new Parliament House. The garden can also be used for official ceremonies such as the President’s address to the joint session. “The aim is to have the renovated Parliament complex ready before the new Lok Sabha meets,” a source said. The Parliament complex consists of four buildings – Parliament House, Constitution House, Parliament Library and Parliament Annexe. Each building has its own unique environment and security system.

At present, movement of vehicles inside the Parliament complex is difficult.

The source said the ongoing improvement efforts are being planned by treating the entire complex as one unit, which will ensure seamless movement of vehicles and people. At present movement of vehicles inside the Parliament complex is difficult. Security is very tight especially during the Parliament session. The Parliament Library Building and the Annexe are separated by a road which houses a reception office and a row of barracks and housing security offices. The statue of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar is located inside the Parliament complex and thousands of visitors visit the complex on his death anniversary and birth anniversary to pay homage to him.

Red Cross Road will also become a part of the complex

Another Parliament source said that Red Cross Road outside the Parliament complex will also become a part of the complex as there are plans to develop offices for Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members at the place where the Red Cross Society currently stands. Rows of barracks are being vacated and plans are being made to demolish the compound wall separating the Parliament House from the annexe. These offices have been shifted to the ‘North Utility Block’ of the new Parliament House.
