This practice has been started again this year after a long gap of 40 years.

This time, more indigenously manufactured modern weapons of India have been displayed during the parade. During the parade, indigenous weapons like T90 Bhishma Tank and BMP-2/2K, Nag Missile Carrier, Pinaka Rocket System, MRSAM Launcher were displayed.
