MLAs reached Ranchi from Hyderabad before the floor test of Champhai government.
Ranchi: Floor test is going to be held in Jharkhand Assembly on Monday. Earlier, JMM MLAs were sent to Hyderabad. Now, ahead of the trust vote tomorrow, the MLAs of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led alliance reached Ranchi from Hyderabad on Sunday evening. During this, all the MLAs landed at Birsa Munda Airport here in a special plane and were taken to the Circuit House of the city through two buses.
Floor test is to be held on Monday
Let us inform that Hemant Soren had resigned from his post on January 31 after a long interrogation and arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case related to the plot. Two days after Hemant’s resignation, senior JMM leader Champai Soren became the Chief Minister on February 2. The new government led by Champai Soren has to prove its majority by facing the trust vote in the House on February 5.
Total 47 MLAs with JMM
Soren was administered the oath of office by Governor CP Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan on February 2. Along with him, senior Congress leader Alamgir Alam and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Satyanand Bhokta took oath as ministers. It is noteworthy that the alliance of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has 47 MLAs in the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly and is supported from outside by the lone CPIML(L) MLA.
Champai Sorane made allegations against BJP
Meanwhile, while addressing a rally on the 52nd foundation day of JMM at the Golf Ground in Dhanbad today, Champai Soren alleged that BJP and outsiders have been engaged in looting the minerals of Jharkhand for 19 years. The Chief Minister claimed that “when Hemant Soren came to power (in 2019) and stopped him from doing so, he implicated him in false cases.”
