Demonstration of farmers continues on the borders of Punjab and Haryana. Farmers are adamant about entering Delhi. Meanwhile, preparations are being made by Rakesh Tikait to take out a tractor march and protest at Ramilala Maidan. On the other hand, farmer leaders held a press conference today at Shambhu border. Meanwhile, farmer leader Sukhwinder Singh said that the dilemma continued throughout the day as to whether the matter should be taken forward with the government after the last rites of Shubhakaran Singh are performed. Let us tell you that Shubhakaran Singh is the same farmer who died at Khanauri border.

What did the farmer leaders say?

Sukhwinder Singh said that we had given a pause of two days only so that we could see the injured farmers at Khanauri border. Can pick up the farmers and take them away. Our demand was that a case should be registered against the officers who attacked Shubhakaran Singh and he should be given the status of martyr. The Punjab government has announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of Shubhakaran Singh on his death. He has also promised to give a government job to Shubhakaran’s sister. He said that our demand is that until an FIR is registered against Shubhakaran’s attackers under Section 302 and he does not get the status of martyr, this movement will continue.

Farmer leader Manjeet Singh Ghumana said that Shubhakaran’s father has also said that until an FIR is registered against the accused and Shubhakaran is not given the status of martyr, he will not be cremated. Gurpreet Singh Sanga said that to stop the online flow, the handles on social media platforms are being blocked by the government. Social media handles are being closed during ongoing meetings. On February 26, there will be massive tribal protests in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. This will happen for the first time in history.
