Prisoners were being radicalized in Bengaluru jail, NIA raids in 7 states – India TV Hindi

New Delhi: A case of radicalization of some prisoners by a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist came to light in the jail of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. NIA is raiding different locations in 7 states on Tuesday regarding this case. Giving information about this, a spokesperson of the agency said that raids are being conducted at a total of 17 places. Let us inform you that Bengaluru City Police had registered a case in July last year after the seizure of 7 pistols, 4 hand grenades, a magazine and other ammunition.

6 people have been arrested in the case

Initially 5 people were arrested in this case and after their interrogation, one more arrest was made, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 6. Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist T. Nasir is an accused in this case along with Junaid Ahmed. Nasir had radicalized 5 people in Bengaluru Central Jail. Junaid Ahmed is absconding. The NIA had taken over the case in October last year and had then conducted searches at several places including Junaid Ahmed’s house. NIA spokesperson said that raids are being conducted at 17 locations in 7 states on Tuesday.

Responsibility for Bengaluru blast also goes to NIA

Let us tell you that the case of bomb blast in a famous cafe in Bengaluru has been handed over to NIA. At least 10 people were injured in the blast that took place on March 1 at Rameshwaram Cafe in Brookfield, East Bengaluru. According to sources, the investigation of the blast has been handed over to NIA. A day before this, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had said that his government can consider handing over the investigation of this case to NIA if needed. So far, officials from NIA, National Security Group (NSG) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) have assisted Karnataka Police in its investigation into the blast case.
