The dispute between Congress and Communist Party of India is likely to increase in Kerala. Actually, CPI has made D Raja’s wife Annie Raja its candidate from Wayanad seat of the state. Rahul Gandhi is the MP from this seat and this time too he will contest elections from here. Now D Raja has made a big comment regarding this. He said that Rahul Gandhi should contest elections from that seat where he has a direct fight with BJP.
Rahul Gandhi will contest elections from Wayanad only
CPI general secretary D Raja on Saturday said a leader of Rahul Gandhi’s stature should contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from a seat where he can directly challenge the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. Along with this, he also said that it is the prerogative of Congress to decide whom it will field from which seat. D Raja made this comment after the Congress on Friday announced that Rahul Gandhi will contest the parliamentary elections proposed in April-May from Wayanad in Kerala.
CPI has made Annie Raja its candidate from Wayanad.
It is noteworthy that Rahul currently represents only Wayanad seat in the Lok Sabha. D Raja’s wife and CPI leader Annie Raja has been made the Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate from Wayanad. Asked about Congress’s decision to field Rahul as its candidate from Wayanad, Raja said, “The CPI has got four seats in the elections under the LDF and Wayanad is one of them, so we have declared our candidate.” Secondly, it is the prerogative of any political party to choose whom to nominate from which constituency. This is the prerogative of Congress in this matter.
Rahul is not a state leader but a national leader – D Raja
He said that Rahul is not a leader of any state but a national leader and former President of Congress. He said, “Rahul Gandhi’s stature is so big that he should contest elections from a seat where there is direct competition from BJP.” The CPI leader said, “Rahul Gandhi organized Bharat Joda Yatra. It was good and we all welcomed it. He has been saying that the ideology of BJP-RSS is responsible for animosity among people, disunity and division in the society. Now he is taking out Nyaya Yatra. Who is not doing justice to the people? This is the ideology of the BJP-RSS alliance.
