At present there is tremendous political turmoil in Shimla. Congress is trying hard to save its government. To handle the situation, Bhupender Hooda, Bhupesh Baghel and D.K. Shivkumar is talking to Congress leaders in Shimla. All the camps of Congress have played their cards and BJP is currently in a wait and see mode. The Speaker of the Assembly terminated the membership of six rebel Congress MLAs who cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha elections. The Speaker disqualified him for membership for not following the party whip. On Wednesday, 15 BJP MLAs were suspended by the Speaker, then in the absence of the opposition, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s government got the budget passed and the assembly proceedings were adjourned indefinitely. This means that for the time being Sukhu’s government has been saved but now Himachal Congress President Pratibha Singh and her son Vikramaditya Singh have opened a direct front. Vikramaditya Singh resigned from Sukhu’s cabinet. Vikramaditya Singh alleged that he was not listened to in Sukhu’s government. Not even two yards of land was given in the mall of Shimla to install the statue of his father Virbhadra Singh, senior Congress MLAs and those with mass base were sidelined, hence what happened in the Rajya Sabha elections is not surprising. .

Although Vikramaditya Singh did not say clearly, but now he wants the high command to make his mother Pratibha Singh the Chief Minister, but after talking to the observers, he definitely said that he has not withdrawn his resignation but will keep his resignation till the final decision is taken. But will not insist. On Thursday, Chief Minister Sukhu called the MLAs at his house but Pratibha Singh and Vikramaditya Singh did not go to that meeting. Vikramaditya Singh has said that he has not withdrawn his resignation, for now he will wait for the decision of the high command because now the entire situation is clear before the high command. After the decision of the high command, he will tell the future strategy. Now the biggest challenge before the Congress observers is to resolve the differences between the two groups. On the other hand, BJP has laddus in both its hands. In the 68 member assembly, Congress with 43 MLAs could not win its candidate, BJP with 25 MLAs won its candidate, hence BJP leaders are happy. Most of the Congress leaders are happy because the Rajya Sabha seat is gone, at least the government is saved, but the path ahead is not easy. It is true that due to the disqualification of six rebel Congress MLAs, the majority figure in the Assembly has increased to 32 and Congress currently has 34 MLAs. Therefore, at present the government does not see any threat. But if Congress does not change the Chief Minister then Vikramaditya Singh’s group will again get angry. If the Chief Minister is changed then the MLAs supporting Sukhu will show their eyes. Therefore, there is a situation of well here and ditch there for the Congress high command. (Rajat Sharma)
