Mamata Banerjee had to face embarrassment on every front regarding Sheikh Shahjahan who tortured women in Sandeshkhali. Every effort of Mamata to save Shahjahan from CBI failed. The Supreme Court refused to immediately hear the appeal of the Mamata government against the decision of the Calcutta High Court. After this, the High Court ordered the Bengal Police to hand over Shahjahan to the CBI by 4.30 pm, served notices of contempt of court to the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and Additional Director General of CID in Mamata’s government, but even after this the police Kept the CBI team sitting for two hours. Another result of Mamata government’s failed attempt to save Shahjahan was that Prime Minister Narendra Modi got full opportunity. He went to Bengal and said that Mamata is neither worried about the mother, nor the soil, nor the humans, she is only worried about a criminal who tarnished the honor of the mothers and sisters of Sandeshkhali. Modi met the women who were victims of Sheikh Shahjahan’s atrocities in Sandeshkhali, talked to them, listened to their pain and assured them of full justice. In the Barasat rally, Modi told the people of Bengal that the women of Bengal will definitely teach Mamata a lesson for what happened in Sandeshkhali.
Sandeshkhali has now become the biggest issue in the election environment of West Bengal. In fact, Mamata’s government used all its efforts to ensure that Shahjahan does not have to be handed over to CBI under any circumstances. Calcutta High Court had ordered the Bengal Police on Tuesday itself to hand over Shahjahan to the CBI, but Mamata’s government returned the CBI team that had come to take Shahjahan, saying that it would appeal in the Supreme Court. On Wednesday, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, on behalf of the Bengal government, appealed to the Supreme Court to hear the appeal soon, but the court refused saying that only the Chief Justice’s bench will decide when and which bench will hear the application. Meanwhile, a contempt of court petition was filed by the ED in the Calcutta High Court against Mamata Banerjee’s government. The High Court was told that even after the court’s order, the Bengal Police did not hand over Sheikh Shahjahan to the CBI. The High Court expressed strong displeasure on this and issued notice of contempt of court to the top officials of the state. The High Court again ordered the Bengal Police to hand over the accused Shahjahan to the CBI by 4.30 pm and hand over all the files of this case to the CBI, but the surprising thing is that by 6 pm the Bengal Police did not hand over Shahjahan to the CBI. Not handed over. After making him wait for about two hours, Bengal Police first took Shahjahan to the hospital for medical check-up and handed him over to CBI at around quarter to seven.
It was clearly visible on Wednesday how the attitude of the criminal and his expressions change due to the attitude of the agencies and the attitude of the government. When the CBI team was taking Sheikh Shahjahan for medical checkup, winds were blowing on his face and his face was pale. But exactly a week ago, when the West Bengal Police produced Shahjahan in the court, the police was escorting him. Sheikh Shahjahan entered the courtroom with his hands in his pockets. Seeing the cameras he showed the victory sign. After this, when he came out of the court, before sitting in the car, like the leaders, he waved towards the public. But when Shahjahan came into the custody of CBI, all his arrogance was gone. And whatever is right will end in the next two-four days. Shahjahan is now in CBI custody. Now he must be remembering that in his public meetings he used to tell people that CBI and ED cannot even harm him. He used to say that pray to God that he does not get angry, if he gets angry then he will break the teeth of BJP workers and skin the BJP leaders.
No leader, no matter how powerful he is, cannot say such things in public without the instigation of the Chief Minister, without the protection of the Chief Minister. Now even Mamata Banerjee must have realized that for 56 days she tried to save a criminal like Shahjahan, tried to give him shelter, tried to cover up his atrocities, on one hand she angered the court, On the other hand, wrong political message was sent, the result of all this was that BJP got a big issue against Mamata while sitting. BJP will make this a big issue in the Lok Sabha elections. Will remind the women of Bengal again and again that Didi saved a criminal and supported those who oppressed women. Modi made full use of it in Barasat.
Barasat is a town in North 24 Parganas district and 85 kilometers from Sandeshkhali. On the way from Kolkata to Barasat, people welcomed Modi with flowers. Modi’s rally was named, Nari Shakti Vandan, that is why a large number of women participated in this rally. The special thing was that a large number of women from Sandeshkhali also came to Barasat to listen to Modi in Modi’s rally. However, as soon as the administration came to know about this, the women of Sandeshkhali were stopped on the way, they were interrogated and only a few women were allowed to go to Modi’s rally. But all these women reached the rally when Modi’s speech was over. After the rally was over, Modi came down from the stage and met these women who were victims of Shahjahan’s atrocities, talked to them for a long time, listened to their ordeal. These women told Modi that they are still receiving threats, they do not trust the Bengal government and the Bengal police, they are still living in fear. Modi assured these women that the Central Government stands with them, every possible effort will be made to provide them justice, so now they do not need to fear anyone.
Meanwhile, to woo women, Mamata Banerjee announced on Wednesday that the salaries of ASHA workers, ICDS helpers and Anganwadi workers will be increased. Mamata Banerjee released a recorded statement in which she said that BJP is trying to disturb the peace of Bengal, is conspiring to defame Bengal on the occasion of elections and Trinamool Congress will never let this attempt succeed. . Mamta will hold a public rally in Kolkata on March 10. Mamata Banerjee may blame BJP for spoiling the atmosphere and call Sandeshkhali a conspiracy by BJP, but the whole country has seen that if Shahjahan and his goons had not attacked the ED team, and if Mamata Banerjee had arrested Sheikh on the same day Had Shahjahan been arrested, it is possible that the cases of atrocities against the women of Sandeshkhali and land grab would never have come to light. Therefore, instead of arresting Shahjahan, Mamata made the first mistake by hiding him. After this, when the central security forces were deployed in Sandeshkhali, the visits of BJP leaders started, the people there got courage, the women of Sandeshkhali themselves came in front of the camera and tearfully told their stories, but Mamta stood in the assembly. The tears of the women were termed as acting, the allegations were false and the statements of the women were termed as BJP’s script. This was Mamta’s second mistake.
After this, the affidavits of the women of Sandeshkhali were submitted in the court. Under pressure from the court, the police had to register an FIR. Then, after the order of the High Court, Bengal Police arrested Shahjahan and to save him from CBI, Mamata Banerjee handed over the investigation of the attack case on ED to CID and sent Shahjahan to the custody of CID. This was Mamta’s third mistake. After this, when the High Court ordered to transfer the case of attack on ED to CBI and hand over Sheikh Shahjahan to CBI, the police did not obey the court’s order. This was the fourth mistake of Mamta government and after this Mamta appealed against the decision of Calcutta High Court in the Supreme Court. This was Mamta’s fifth mistake. Since Mamta is continuously trying to save Sheikh Shahjahan, anger is growing among women against her. If Mamata had arrested Shahjahan on the very first day and sent him to jail, perhaps this matter would not have escalated to such an extent, but if Mamata is taking advantage of the atmosphere created against her due to her continuous mistakes, then it is wrong.
