There is tremendous political turmoil in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. On Wednesday night, Hemant Soren resigned as chief minister minutes before his arrest, replacing him with cabinet minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha vice-president Champai Soren as leader of the legislature party. The Enforcement Directorate took Hemant Soren into custody at Raj Bhawan immediately after his resignation. The incident changed rapidly on Wednesday night at around 8:30 pm. JMM, Congress and RJD MLAs suddenly left the Chief Minister’s residence and went to Raj Bhavan. After this Hemant Soren also reached to meet the Governor. He presented his resignation with one hand and staked claim to form the government before the Governor with the other hand. Although Governor CP Radhakrishnan did not meet all the MLAs who accompanied Hemant Soren, only a few MLAs went inside, but the MLAs announced that Champai Soren had been elected as the leader of the legislative party and the decision to form the government was taken. Claim has also been submitted. Now the Governor should administer oath to the new government. Now the question is, when will the new government be formed in Jharkhand? When will the Governor call Champai Soren for oath? Will you call or not?
What is certain is that when Hemant Soren was sure that his arrest was certain, he decided to resign and appoint Champai Soren without any delay, because Hemant Soren did not want the Governor or the Central Government to interfere. Get any chance. Hemant Soren played a lot of political tricks. When the ED team reached the Chief Minister’s residence, Hemant Soren had called the MLAs supporting the government to his house. A crowd of party workers gathered at Morhabadi Maidan in Ranchi. After this, Jharkhand Home Secretary Avinash Kumar was removed. His additional charge was handed over to Chief Secretary L Khangayate and then an FIR was lodged under the SC/ST Act against the ED officers who raided the Chief Minister’s house in Delhi. But all these efforts could not save his chair.
67 year old Champai Soren is a big and old leader of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Since 2005, he has won the assembly elections four times consecutively. Shibu has been with Soren during the movement for Jharkhand state. After formation of Jharkhand, he was a minister in Arjun Munda’s government. Then he was a minister in Hemant Soren’s government from 2010 to 2013. After this, when Hemant Soren became the Chief Minister again, he was again made a minister. Champai Soren is a confidant of Hemant Soren. It is being claimed that yesterday in the legislature party meeting, Hemant Soren had got the MLAs to sign two papers. In one, there was a proposal to elect Kalpana Soren as the leader of the legislative party and in the other, there was a proposal to elect Champai Soren as the leader of the legislative party. It was revealed on Wednesday that since there was a dispute in the family over the name of Kalpana Soren, Hemant Soren decided to make Champai Soren the Chief Minister. JMM leaders claim that 47 MLAs from the three parties were present outside the Raj Bhavan and they are ready to appear before the Governor at any time, but the Governor had refused on Wednesday evening.
However, all the tricks of Hemant Soren failed. After being on the run for two months, he came under the scanner of ED. Now he will be interrogated in ED custody. Although Hemant Soren had told the ED, the time is mine, the place is mine, if you want to come then come, preparations had been made as to what to do if arrested. Officers were transferred. A case was registered against ED people, buses were called for MLA’s, time was sought from the Governor. Hemant Soren wanted whatever was to happen, to happen in his state, hence he came to Ranchi secretly from Delhi. They want to take full political advantage of the arrest. Want to project ED’s action as Modi’s oppression of a tribal. SC-ST Act was also used for this. He also gathered a large number of tribals, but despite doing everything, he could not scare the ED team and could not save his chair. Despite using all his strength, he could not make his wife the Chief Minister. The arrest of Hemant Soren will give a new turn to the politics of Jharkhand.
