Before the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates, the Modi government at the Center has issued the notification of the Citizenship Amendment Act i.e. CAA. Under this, minorities from three neighboring countries – Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will start getting citizenship. This is a big step by the Central Government before the Lok Sabha elections. Reactions from opposition and ruling party leaders have also started coming regarding this decision of Modi government. Let us know what the leaders said about CAA?

On issuing the CAA notification, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said, “…this is their (BJP’s) last game. Let it go on, let it be implemented, they keep playing this game till there are elections.” Till then they will play CAA-CAA, let them play.”

West Bengal BJP President Sukant Majumdar said, “Home Minister Amit Shah had already told that the CAA notification will be issued before the Lok Sabha elections. No one has any problem with it, but our Chief Minister is not losing sleep over it. “

On West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s statement on the implementation of CAA, Union Minister Arjun Munda said, “People who see things only through political prism may have different opinions, I will not go into that, but the government will ensure that She wants that whatever is in the interest of the country should be done.”

Let us tell you that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was approved by the Parliament in December 2019. It has been implemented after four years. After the issuance of CAA rules, now non-Muslim immigrants – Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis and Christians – who came to India from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan till December 31, 2014, will be given Indian citizenship.
