Revanth Reddy met Sonia Gandhi and told her that Telangana Congress had passed a resolution urging him to contest elections from the state. According to an official release issued in Hyderabad on Monday night, Reddy said Sonia Gandhi is being requested to contest elections from the state because people see her as the ‘mother’ who provided statehood to Telangana. .

Revanth Reddy was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and state Revenue Minister P. Nivas Reddy. The Chief Minister also informed Sonia Gandhi about the election promises being implemented by her government. He also informed that the Telangana government has decided to conduct caste based census and preparations have been started for it. Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy also met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra’ in Ranchi.
