Customs recovered cocaine worth Rs 220 crore in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Security agencies have achieved great success in Odisha. Here officials of Bhubaneswar Custom Department have recovered 22 kg of cocaine from a ship. It is being told that the price of this 22 kg cocaine in the international market is approximately Rs 220 crore. The Customs Department said that this action was taken on the basis of intelligence information.
According to the Customs Department, Special Intelligence and Investigation Branch (SIIB) and Bhubaneswar Customs division officers searched the Panama-registered ship, MV Debi, at Paradip port and recovered 22 kg of cocaine worth Rs 220 crore. The cocaine packets were hidden in the ship’s crane. Now further investigation is going on in this matter.
Earlier in the beginning of November, Bhubaneswar STF team had arrested a drug dealer from Cuttack. During this, a huge quantity of brown sugar was recovered from him. Later, a case was registered and a court challan was issued on Wednesday and he was sent to jail.
