Tripura: INDIA adopted special strategy to compete with BJP in Lok Sabha elections – India TV Hindi

INDI Alliance has made a special strategy to deal with BJP in Tripura.

Agartala: Eight parties in the opposition INDIA alliance in Tripura on Wednesday announced a joint campaign in the Lok Sabha elections to take on the ruling BJP-led alliance in the state. Let us inform that after organizing the first meeting of 8 constituent parties of INDIA alliance in Tripura, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Burma said that a 25-member election management committee has been formed with him and CPM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhary as joint convenors.

‘Our fight is to save freedom’

Roy Burma also urged voters to use their minds and vote ‘judiciously’ in favor of INDIA alliance candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections for the two parliamentary seats in Tripura. He said, ‘Despite differences on ideological grounds, we have come together to save the Constitution, democracy, secularism and federal nature of the country. We are fighting for the overall welfare of the people. At the same time, CPM Central Committee member Jitendra Chaudhary said that during the freedom struggle, people came together to fight and drive the British out of the country, and our fight is to save that freedom.

BJP had won both the seats in 2019

Let us inform that the components of INDIA alliance in Tripura include 5 left parties CPM, CPI, RSP, Forward Bloc and CPI (ML) apart from Congress, Gana Manch and Tripura People’s Party. As for the INDIA block candidates, former CPM MLA Rajendra Reang will contest from Tripura East Lok Sabha seat (ST), while state Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha, also a former MLA, will contest from Tripura West Lok Sabha seat. The BJP had won both the seats for the first time in 2019, with Union minister Pratima Bhowmik (Tripura West) and teacher-turned-politician Rebati Tripura (Tripura East) emerging victorious.

Voting will be held in Tripura in 2 phases

Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Kriti Singh Debbarma from Tripura East and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb from Tripura West Lok Sabha seats for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Voting for the West Tripura parliamentary seat will be held on April 19, while voting for the Tripura East (ST) constituency will be held on April 26.
