300 tourists stranded near Atal Tunnel
Kullu Manali: About 300 tourists were trapped due to heavy snowfall near the South Portal (SP) of Atal Tunnel in Rohtang, after which police were immediately alerted and they were rescued. The matter is of Tuesday.
SP’s statement came out
Kullu SP Sakshi Verma said, ‘Around 50 vehicles and a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus were stuck near the South Portal (SP) of ATR, in which around 300 tourists were travelling. All the tourists have been evacuated from ATR.
How is the weather going to be in Himachal?
According to the local meteorological department, there is a possibility of heavy snowfall and rain in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh from January 30 to February 3. Also, occasional thunderstorms and lightning may occur in the lower hilly and plain areas of the state, while isolated areas of the central and higher hills will experience strong winds during this period.
The Meteorological Department says that during this period the average maximum temperature is likely to be below normal, while the minimum temperature will be normal in the lower hills and below normal in the middle and higher hills.
