New Delhi: As soon as the new year starts, the entire North India including Delhi-NCR is in the grip of severe fog. Visibility has become zero in many cities. This is affecting traffic. Many trains are being cancelled. Hundreds of trains are running late by several hours. Flights are being affected. Along with this, this fog is also affecting the crops. The Indian Meteorological Center (IMD) has issued a warning that there will be no relief of any kind for the next few days.

According to IMD, a layer of fog over Punjab, North Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, North-West Madhya Pradesh, South Uttarakhand, Sub Himalayan West Bengal in the satellite image taken at 06:15 IST on January 1, 2024 Is visible. According to the information, this situation will continue for a few more days.

Along with this, severe cold and cold wave continues to wreak havoc in the national capital Delhi and its surrounding NCR areas. A drop in minimum temperature has also been recorded here. Along with this, IMD has said that there is no sign of reduction in cold wave for the next five days. In view of the worsening weather conditions, the India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in Delhi. Also, people have been appealed to come out of the house only when necessary.

Pollution increased in Delhi-NCR

Apart from falling temperature and increasing cold, pollution has again started troubling the people of Delhi. AQI 382 was recorded in Delhi on December 31. There is no hope of any relief in this even in the new year. A lot of firecrackers are burst in Delhi-NCR on the occasion of New Year. Whose effect is beginning to be seen on air quality. In many areas, AQI had crossed 400 at 6 am. The overall AQI of the capital was recorded at 359.
