Ranchi: After the resignation of Hemant Soren, Champai Soren has taken over as the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand today. After swearing in, Champai Soren took the first cabinet meeting. After the first cabinet meeting, Jharkhand CM Champai Soren said that we will carry forward the work started by Hemant Soren. Hemant Soren is the leader of our party. He initiated many schemes for the development of the state and he would be successful in his fight for justice.
Will also participate in ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’
JMM leader Champai Soren said that we will participate in Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’. Let us tell you that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is entering Jharkhand today. He will enter Pakur from West Bengal. Along with JMM, Congress is also a part of the government.
Alliance MLA leaves for Hyderabad
Shortly after Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislature party leader Champai Soren took oath as the chief minister of the state, the MLAs of the JMM-led alliance left for Hyderabad by plane. A senior leader of the ruling coalition said the decision to shift the MLAs to Hyderabad, the capital of Congress-ruled Telangana, was taken in view of the possibility that the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might try to woo them. The senior leader said, we have been given 10 days to prove majority. We cannot take any risk during this time as BJP may try to contact our MLAs.
Congress MLA Banna Gupta, a key constituent of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance, said 38 MLAs of the alliance flew to Hyderabad. Others have stayed there. The JMM-led alliance also released a video on Thursday, in which 43 MLAs of the 81-member state assembly were seen present to show the strength of the alliance.
