The route of Ahmedabad and Maharashtra has been selected to run the first bullet train in the country. The country’s first bullet train will reach speed on this route only.

The central government has special attention on this project. In this sequence, on Friday, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav visited the bullet train stations of BKC and Vikhroli in Mumbai. Here he expressed satisfaction over the progress made on the country’s first high-speed rail corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Let us tell you that it has been almost a year since the work started at BKC station.

‘There will be a revolutionary change in inter-city travel’

During this, the Railway Minister said that the high-speed rail corridor will not only bring revolutionary changes in inter-city travel but will also integrate the economies of Mumbai, Surat, Anand, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. Citing the example of the high-speed rail running between Tokyo and Osaka, which created new economic zones with improved connectivity, he said Mumbai and Ahmedabad will eventually become a single economic zone. He announced that the first bullet train will run between Surat and Bilimora stations by August 2026.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad journey will take less than 3 hours

It is noteworthy that trains will run at a speed of 220 km per hour to 320 km per hour in the Bullet Train Corridor. It will connect Mumbai to Ahmedabad in 2.07 hours to 2.58 hours. Railways will also study the economic impact of the high-speed rail corridor. National High Speed ​​Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has completed the laying of 284 km long elevated line in Gujarat for the Bullet Train route.
