Talks are still going on between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress for alliance in Haryana. There is a deadlock between the two on the number of seats. Both the parties are indulging in politics of pressure. A senior Congress leader says that his party has offered five seats to Arvind Kejriwal’s party, while AAP wants to contest on at least ten seats. There is a possibility of reaching an agreement on seven seats in a day or two.
Despite the opposition of most local Congress leaders, the party high command wishes that if an alliance happens, it will send a good message. On the other hand, AAP leaders have said that if a decision on the alliance is not taken, then in a day or two they can announce to contest the elections alone. On Saturday, Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha has also indicated that efforts are on to form an alliance with the Congress in Haryana.
AAP got one percent votes in the last election
If we consider the previous elections as a basis, then Aam Aadmi Party has about one percent votes in Haryana. This is very important in terms of preventing division of votes. Apart from BJP and Congress, many parties are in the fray in Haryana, which have influence on many seats. These include Dushyant Chautala’s Jannayak Janata Party, INLD, BSP, Azad Samaj Party. Dushyant’s party has an alliance with Azad Samaj Party.
Even one percent of votes can prove decisive
Independents can also have an impact on many seats. It is believed that as a part of strategy, BJP is working on a plan to split the opposition votes. Therefore, even one percent of votes can prove to be decisive. Aam Aadmi Party is demanding some seats out of the 71 seats on which Congress has finalized its candidates, due to which Congress has released the first list of only 32 candidates.
