Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his fellow cabinet ministers submitted their resignations to state Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Tuesday. According to reports, this development has come to light amid speculations of a rift between the ruling BJP and Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) alliance in the state over seat sharing before the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, discussions have also started regarding the name of the next Chief Minister of Haryana. Sanjay Bhatia is a BJP MP from Karnal Lok Sabha seat of Haryana. Bhatia, 56, comes from a Punjabi background and was associated with ABVP during his student days. He is also the General Secretary of Haryana BJP, and has also been the Chairman of Haryana Khadi and Village Industries Board. He has looked after the organizational work of Bharatiya Janata Party for a long time and that is why he is also counted among the grassroots leaders of the state. After becoming the divisional secretary of ABVP in 1987, he became the district general secretary of ABVP in 1989. In 1998, Sanjay Bhatia was made the state general secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha.
Had registered a big victory in the 2019 elections
Sanjay Bhatia had created history by registering a massive victory from Karnal seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In those elections, Sanjay Bhatia got a total of 9,11,594 votes and his nearest Congress candidate Kuldeep Sharma was given his vote by 2,55,452 people. If seen this way, Sanjay Bhatia had defeated Kuldeep Sharma by a huge margin of 6,56,142 votes. According to sources, due to his work in the organization and his good image, Sanjay Bhatia’s name is leading in the race for the new CM.
