There is a lot of Gujiya and sweets on Holi, but most of the people prefer salty food. Many types of dishes are prepared at home. In such a situation, you can prepare delicious snacks from Poha a few days before Holi. Poha Namkeen is very healthy and tasty to eat. Children and adults alike eat it with gusto. When you serve these snacks to the guests who come to your house to apply colors on Holi, people will leave the sweets and eat these snacks only. Poha Namkeen tastes very tasty. Poha is easily available in everyone’s house. A lot of namkeens can be prepared using spices and some namkeen. Know how to make namkeen from poha and chirwa?

Ingredients for Poha Namkeen

To make salty poha, you will have to take about 250 grams thick poha. To add it, 100 grams of makhana is required. Apart from this, take 250 grams of potato or gram flour bhujia. This namkeen is easily available in the market. Apart from this, take 250 grams peanuts, 250 grams roasted gram, 10-12 cashews and 20 raisins. Among the spices, take salt, chilli, turmeric, mango powder and some chaat masala.

Poha Namkeen Recipe

  1. To make salty poha, first fry the makhana and peanuts lightly.

  2. If you want, you can roast them without oil or add some oil.

  3. Keep in mind that fry the makhanas in a heavy pan with ghee, this will give good taste.

  4. Now lightly roast cashew nuts after peanuts.

  5. Add gram to the roasted peanuts and then turn off the gas and leave all the roasted things in the pan for a while.

  6. You have to add 1 spoon chaat masala in peanuts and gram, so that the masala gets mixed well.

  7. Heat oil in a pan and keep the gas flame medium to high.

  8. Now take a poha fryer and put poha in it and dip the sieve in hot oil.

  9. You have to take about 1 handful of poha at a time and fry it.

  10. Once the poha is fried, it will swell up and spread it on a newspaper.

  11. With this, the extra oil in Poha will be removed easily.

  12. As soon as you put the poha on the newspaper, add a pinch of turmeric to it and mix it with your hands.

  13. Fry the entire poha in the same manner. Now keep the poha in a vessel and mix peanuts, gram, makhana, cashew nuts, raisins and potato bhujia.

  14. Add salt, chilli, mango powder and chaat masala as per taste.

  15. Poha’s light and very tasty namkeen is ready. Keep it in an airtight container and eat it easily within a month.
