If you are bored of eating Idli and Dosa then you can try Rava Medu Vada. It tastes very tasty to eat medu vada with hot sambar. Although medu vada is made from lentils, but if you want to eat it immediately, you can also make medu vada from rava i.e. semolina. It is easy to digest and because it is made of semolina, it becomes crispy. You can eat it for breakfast or evening snacks. Hot medu vada with peanut chutney or sambar also helps in keeping the body warm in winters. Know how to make Rava Medu Vada.

Ingredients to make Rava Medu Vada

For this you need 1 cup of rava i.e. semolina. About 1 cup water, half teaspoon cumin, 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1 teaspoon oil, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, some green coriander, 1 green chilli finely chopped, 2-3 curry leaves and salt as per taste. Oil is required to fry the vada.

Rava Medu Vada Recipe

  • To prepare Rava Medu Vada, first cook the Rava. You have to mix water, oil and salt in a pan and let the water boil.
  • Now add rava in water and cook it while stirring. It has to be cooked until the water dries completely.
  • Now take out the cooked rava in a bowl and mix all the spices.
  • You have to chop some curry leaves, add black pepper, cumin, chilli, chopped coriander and lemon juice to it.
  • Now mix all the things and make a ball shape from the rava, flatten it slightly and make a hole in the middle.
  • Pour oil in the pan and after it gets hot, add the vadas and fry them.
  • You have to keep the gas flame medium and fry the vada until it turns golden brown.
  • Crispy medu vadas are ready, serve them hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
  • Small children also like to eat medu vada with tomato sauce.
