Although it takes a lot of time to make Gujiya, its taste outweighs everything. If you are short of time, you can quickly make cloves with some mawa. Cloves are eaten extensively in UP and Bihar. Some people also call it Laungalatika. This sweet is prepared with flour and a little khoya. The special thing is that these cloves do not spoil quickly. So this time on Holi, definitely try this easy clove recipe.

  • Flour- 500 grams
  • Desi ghee- 2 spoons
  • Mawa- 200 grams
  • some chopped nuts
  • For syrup – 400 grams sugar
  • Water- 200 grams

How to make Laung Latika Recipe

  • First of all, mix flour and ghee well and knead a light and soft dough by adding some water.

  • Keep the dough covered for about 10 minutes and chop all the dry fruits finely.

  • Now mix mawa, dry fruits and ground cardamom well in a bowl.

  • Keep the clove filling aside and prepare syrup from sugar.

  • As soon as the syrup becomes slightly thick, turn off the gas and keep the syrup covered.

  • Now crush the flour and make small balls and roll them to the size of a puri.

  • Now apply water well on it and put some mawa filling on top.

  • Now fold it from both the ends and apply water and stick it and then fold it from the top and stick it to form a clove shape.

  • Prepare all the clove latikas in this manner and then fry them in oil.

  • Keep the gas flame medium during this time. So that they become nicely golden.

  • Immediately put the fried cloves in the syrup and keep it for 10 to 12 minutes.

  • When the syrup goes inside a little, take it out and serve hot cloves.

  • Serve this homemade clove to your guests on Holi.
