Fake Mawa is made from these things

Fake mawa is made from dangerous ingredients like cheap milk powder, talcum powder, lime, chalk and white chemicals. To make synthetic milk, mawa is prepared by mixing minor washing powder, refined oil, water and pure milk. At some places, potato and starch are also added to increase the weight of mawa.

This is how to identify real mawa

  • You can also identify real mawa by testing it. For this, take a little mawa and taste it. If its taste is astringent then it is fake.
  • Take some mawa in your hand and make a ball out of it. If it starts bursting then understand that it is fake. Apart from this, if khoya tablets start bursting after making them, then understand that the mawa is adulterated.
  • Dissolve about 2 grams of khoya in 5 ml of hot water and after it cools down for some time, add iodine solution to it. If khoya is fake then its color will start turning blue.
  • Mix some sugar in mawa and heat it. If it starts releasing water then it means the mawa is fake.
  • When you are taking mawa. Take some mawa and rub it on your thumb nail. If it is genuine then the smell of ghee will linger for a long time.
  • Real mawa does not stick to the mouth, whereas fake mawa sticks to the mouth.
