Players Scoring 100 and 200 in Same Test : A century and a double century in the same test match. It sounds so difficult, but it is much more difficult to do. But even after this, there are some selected players in the world who have achieved this feat. There have been only 8 players from all over the world who have done this during their Test career. But there is no one who has repeated this feat more than once. Sunil Gavaskar is one such player for India. Let us know when Gavaskar did this work and which other batsmen are included in this list.

Doug Walters of Australia did this feat for the first time in the year 1969

Doug Walters, one of Australia’s great batsmen, was the batsman who achieved the feat of scoring a century and a double century in the same Test for the first time. This is the year 1969. Doug Walters played brilliant innings of 242 and then 103 runs in the first innings against West Indies. In the year 1971, India’s Sunil Gavaskar also achieved this feat and became the first player to do so for India. While Sunil Gavaskar scored 124 runs in the first innings of the match against West Indies, he scored a tremendous inning of 220 runs with his bat in the second innings.

England’s Graham Gooch scored a century and a triple century.

In the year 1972, Lawrence Rowe of West Indies scored 214 runs in the first innings against New Zealand and scored unbeaten 100 runs in the second innings. Greg Chappell scored unbeaten 247 runs in the first innings in the match played against New Zealand in the year 1974 and after this, he scored a brilliant inning of 133 runs with his bat in the second innings of the match. In the year 1990, England’s Graham Gooch achieved a feat even greater than this, which had never happened before. While he played a brilliant inning of 333 runs in the first innings against the Indian team, he also scored 123 runs in the second innings. That means a century and a triple century in the same match.

Names of Brian Lara and Kumar Sangakkara also included

Brian Lara, one of the best batsmen of West Indies, scored 221 runs in the first innings and 130 runs in the second against Sri Lanka in 2001. Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka had scored 319 runs in the first innings and 105 runs in the second innings against Bangladesh in the year 2014. Talking about the recent times, Marnus Labuschagne’s name also comes in this list. In the year 2022, he scored 204 runs in the first innings of the match against West Indies and 104 unbeaten runs in the second innings. Since then, no batsman has been able to do this, it remains to be seen which new player is successful in entering this list.
