Australian team’s strong player Glenn Maxwell had reached a pub in Adelaide. Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee’s band Six and Out was also performing in the same pub. During this time, Maxwell drank too much alcohol at the party and after this he lost his senses. For this reason he was immediately admitted to the hospital. Now Australian team head coach Andrew McDonald has given a statement regarding this incident saying that Maxwell needs to consider his options while he is away from the team.
They must take care of themselves to move forward
According to the statement of Australian coach Andrew McDonald published on ESPN Cricinfo on this incident with Glenn Maxwell, he said that I have talked to Maxwell about this. I have had a detailed conversation with him regarding the incident. I have said before that they need to consider taking care of themselves in order to move forward. We have given him a chance to rest and this is a lesson for him on how to move forward. We want Maxwell to continue playing cricket for Australia for the next three to four years. I don’t know whether he will be able to participate in the ODI World Cup to be held in 2027 or not. But he is one of our most important players in the limited overs format. But we want Glenn Maxwell to play for Australia as long as possible. We have to do our job and there is no doubt that he will have to think again, Maxwell will have to maintain his decision. This is an honest mistake. He needs to clearly see what he is doing from his end and whether it is right to do so at that time.
