Babar Azam equaled Virat Kohli even after losing to New Zealand, world record in danger

Virat Kohli vs Babar Azam: Pakistan team is currently on tour to New Zealand where a five-match T20 series is being played between the two teams. Pakistan has faced a crushing defeat in the first three matches of this series. Due to which they have lagged 0-3 in this series. Nothing good seems to be happening for the Pakistan team in this series, but former team captain Babar Azam is continuously scoring runs for his team. Meanwhile, in the third match of the series, he has equaled the record of Team India’s star batsman Virat Kohli. Due to which Virat’s record is in danger.

Babar Azam reached par with Virat Kohli

Babar Azam scored three 50+ scores in the three matches played against New Zealand. He scored 57 runs in the first match, 66 runs in the second and 58 runs in the third match. With these three innings, he has now crossed the 50+ score mark 8 times against New Zealand. In the third match against New Zealand, Babar Azam equaled Virat Kohli’s world record for scoring the highest score of 50+ against a single opponent.

World record in danger

Virat Kohli has scored eight half-centuries in 21 innings so far against Australia, while Babar has scored seven half-centuries and one century in 18 innings against New Zealand. Babar and Kohli now jointly hold the record for the highest 50+ score against an opposition team in the T20 format. Now Babar has a chance to overtake Kohli in this list in the next T20 match to be played against New Zealand on January 19.
