In every match, he had suffocated the opposing team by bowling lethally. He played a big role in the Indian team reaching the finals. Meanwhile, he got injured, but kept taking medicine and kept playing. He was rested after the World Cup so that he could recover from his injury. It was believed that before IPL 2024, he would be completely fit and would be seen playing. There is still about a month left for the Indian Premier League to start, but in the meantime, news has come out quoting PTI that Mohammed Shami may be out of the entire IPL season. This report has come to light from BCCI sources. It is being told that due to knee injury he will undergo surgery in UK.
Big blow for Gujarat Titans
Mohammed Shami has long experience in IPL. Shami has played for KKR, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings in IPL. Now he will be seen playing for GT i.e. Gujarat Titans. Mohammed Shami, who made his IPL debut in 2013, has so far taken 127 wickets in 110 matches. His absence in the next season is no less than a big blow for GT. Hardik Pandya has already left the team and gone back to Mumbai Indians. Now it will be interesting to see that if Shami is really out, then the Gujarat Titans team includes some player as his replacement.
